The editors at Popular Mechanics have made a name for themselves as ardent defenders of the official 9/11 story. Editor-in-Chief James Meigs and contributing writers have presented articles in the magazine that dismiss the scientific evidence of controlled demolition of the WTC skyscrapers and characterize the discovery of thermitic residue in the WTC dust as insignificant. However, a recent review of the Popular Mechanics archives has revealed that this “world-renowned” publication reported on the use of thermite to bring down steel structures over 75 years ago.

The SkyRide Towers, an attraction built for the Chicago World’s Fair in 1933, consisted of two 628-foot-tall steel towers, connected by an aerial suspension system that ferried passengers from one tower to the other. At the time, its staggering height made it the tallest structure in Chicago.

Question:
Why weren't the sounds that were heard during the destruction of the WTC skyscrapers on 9/11 as loud as the blasts heard in videos of acknowledged controlled demolitions?

Answer:
As 9/11 researcher Jim Hoffman points out at 911research.com, the continuous and rapid explosions of the Twin Towers would make distinct explosions nearly impossible to hear, except perhaps by those who were right next to the Towers. A news clip from Fox shows witnesses in midtown NYC stating that the explosive roar of the Towers’ demise sounded like “another large aircraft flying overhead.” These roaring sound waves were heard miles away.

I should have known from the cartoons on the cover what Jonathan Kay's book, "Among the Truthers," would be like. But that old saying about not judging a book by its cover trumped my first impression. I recalled similar cartoons like the astronaut, flying saucers and helicopters on my pajamas, worn as a toddler. The book’s subtitle, "A Journey through Americas Growing Conspiracist Underground," should have been my second clue as to its contents.

An "Underground"? "Among the Truthers" is basically about the growing 9/11 Truth movement. “Truther” is slang, given by mainstream to individuals who first research the evidence and then realize that the official 9/11 story cannot be true. Kay tells of one former "truther" who finally did navigate the river Styx back to the mainstream from that underworld stating:

"There were a lot of nights when someone would go off on revolutionary rants, and we would be all rah-rah and get excited. At the time, I smoked a lot of pot with those guys. If you’re doing it everyday and watching propaganda, you're not going to be exercising your critical facilities."

Outreach with WTC Evidence Yields Warm Reception with Positive Results

The “Occupy Wall Street” protests nationwide have provided a new opportunity to educate the public about the WTC skyscraper demolitions, and AE911Truth supporters and volunteers are making an impact.
9/11 Truth activists have courteously reached out to demonstrators at local “Occupy” events in a variety of ways, including displaying the AE911Truth banner, wearing 9/11 truth T-shirts, and handing out our street brochures. They have also delivered short 9/11 talks, which have been very well received by the OWS free-speech supporters, like this "Human Microphone Speech" developed by AE911Truth petition signers, which is designed to integrate our WTC "evidence-based" message into the "censorship" theme more familiar to OWS attendees.

Not all OWS events go as smoothly for 9/11 Truth supporters. What can we all learn from the experiences of the Wellington, NZ AE911Truth Action Group?

We arrived early at 10.00am hoping to get a time to make a presentation but unfortunately, we were advised by the organizers at the information tent that all of the time slots for the presentations had been booked and taken by other groups. We were given a space for a “workshop” later on in the morning and a space was provided for us away from the main area. We were also advised we could set up our banners in the lower civic square which was away from the main Occupy Wellington protest. We left DVDS and the ae911truth information flyers, the Whistleblower flyers and some 9/11 truth documentary combo DVDS (9/11 mysteries, Blueprint for Truth, Richard Gage Close Up) in the information tent. It was heartening to see that one of our group (thank you Sarah) had left information leaflets earlier on in the week which we saw displayed in the information library tent.
