23 building and fire code changes were approved by the International Code Council (ICC) based on recommendations from the Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Changes included the widening of exit stairways and the hardening of stairwells and elevator hoistways, improved fireproofing and sprinklers, and the establishment of emergency elevators for evacuation and firefighter access.

As he sits in a lawn chair on his patio with a glass of iced tea in his hand, Richard Gage, AIA, looks reflective. He just gave his 51st public talk about the evidence that explosives, not the jet impacts and ensuing fires, brought down the World Trade Center seven years ago.

He's just returned to his home in an undisclosed Northern California location after an electrifying four-day visit to Denver and neighboring Boulder, Colorado. His outreach included roving hand-held laptop presentations to conventioneers at the Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI)'s annual conference at the Hyatt Regency, an updated 2-1/2-hour speech before 320 people at the Marriott, and promising visits with four academic leaders at two major local universities.

Respondents include architect Richard Gage, AIA; mechanical engineer Anthony Szamboti; structural engineer Kamal Obeid, S.E.; remodel contractor and WTC 7 researcher Chris Sarns; and chemist and certified quality engineer Kevin Ryan.

For the first time in history, normal office fires have created a total progressive collapse if the report from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) can be believed, said Richard Gage, AIA. Office fires can not melt steel, Gage claims, and NIST has neither explained the mystery of molten iron at the World Trade Center site nor considered other evidence that also suggests the use of thermate incendiary charges to cut the steel framework of 47-story Building 7.

Richard Gage, AIA spoke in the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park at Ashbury and Fell at a rally organized by the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance. 60 people then marched two miles to the 10th Annual Power to the Peaceful Festival to join 50,000 dancing to Michael Franti and Spearhead, the amazing hip-hop-jazz-rock group.

McCain, the leading Republican presidential hopeful is also the author of the preface to the Popular Mechanics book "Debunking 9/11 Myths", which ignores most of the evidence for controlled demolition at the WTC.
