AE911Truth supporters from all over the Midwest made this tour a raving success. Here the hard core from Peoria, inspired by leader Dan Sutton, form the Peoria AE911Truth Action Group |
After our last update in mid-April of our ten-city tour of the Midwest we continued successfully with more of the explosive evidence delivered into the heart of America in Kansas City, with our final stop in Motor City, Detroit.
We were greeted in Kansas City by the awesome 9/11 Truth team led by Reed Simpson, Stuart Auld, and Larry Sells, the owner of the historic Uptown Theater – the upscale venue for our live multimedia presentation of 9/11: Blueprint for Truth.
The historic Kansas City Uptown Theater hosted AE911Truth for the 2nd time in 3 years |
The group pulled out all the stops for our packed house in the Valentine Room. Four thousand emails from Larry’s Uptown email contacts, Reed and Stuart’s 9/11 Truth contacts, and ads in local papers packed the house with 180 people. Before the presentation five of them believed the official conspiracy theory (OCT) of Saudi hijackers ramming planes into the building bringing down the WTC Twin Towers by the impacts and fires, 23 were unsure, and the remainder already came agreeing with the evidence for controlled demolition (CD). Afterward no one believed the OCT, only five were unsure, and the remainder agreed with the CD evidence. There was one architect, four engineers, and 24 who had never heard of WTC Building 7 before.
The Nelson-Atkins Gallery of Contemporary art hosts a remarkable piece of architecture as its modern wing, designed by award-winning architect Steven Holl |
We were greeted with some stunning architecture in Kansas City. The Plaza has architectural elements from Seville, Spain.
We stopped in at the Nelson-Atkins Museum to see the unbelievably beautiful “Water Lilies” of impressionist artist Monet, a temporary exhibit timed perfectly for our visit.
Our final stop landed us in Motor City – Detroit – where AE911Truth supporter and engineer, Stan Beattie, almost singlehandedly prepared the way with hard work and serendipity.
We also toured the fascinating Country Club Plaza in Kansas City – established in 1922 by J. C. Nichols and designed architecturally after Seville, Spain. It is an upscale shopping district – the first in the world designed to accommodate shoppers arriving by automobile. |
His long-time friend, Prof. Richard Marburger, a physicist and president emeritus of Lawrence Technological University, was quite impressed by Beattie’s personal presentation of the forensic evidence of the WTC destruction. Marburger recommended to the Dean of the School of Architecture that it be given a fair shake in the university’s lecture series. Dean Glenn LeRoy and Assistant Dean Joseph Veryser, both well-known architects, stood up strong to the forces of ignorance and prevailed in the coming controversy. They postered their campus and listed the event to all students and faculty. Beattie, along with WeAreChange activists James Boglev and Jeff Saxon, contributed their mailing lists. AE911Truth ultimately drew 209 attendees. Eight believed in the OCT beforehand and no one believed afterward. Twenty-six were unsure beforehand and just two were unsure afterward. The remainder agreed with the evidence for controlled demolition. There were five architects, seven engineers, and 24 people who had never heard of WTC 7.
Unfortunately, not too many students or faculty were able to attend due to the unfortunate timing of studio critiques occurring at the same time.
Joe Veryser, AIA, Assoc. Dean, College of Architecture, LTU and Richard Gage, AIA, share pizza, beer, and a skeptical view of the official story of WTC 7’s destruction. |
Prof. Marburger and Dean Veryser were impressed with the presentation. Yet the Dean voted as one of only 2 “unsure’s”. When asked why, he admitted that “the logic of WTC 7 escapes me” and that “there are bits and pieces of the evidence that raise serious questions.” Yet, almost in the same breath, he alluded to the mighty power of jet fuel. He said he didn’t want to “go back in time” and “find a needle in a haystack.” After all, “all those engineers couldn’t be lying” and “I don’t sign petitions.”
We discussed the issues for quite a while, but we just couldn’t get him to join us in calling for a new investigation – a frustrating outcome for us after having our first invitation by a university dean to speak on campus. We wondered what athe other 207 audience members saw in the presentation that the two “Unsure’s”, including Dean Veryser, didn’t, or wouldn’t, see. Watch the LTU presentation here and determine for yourself whether you believe a real investigation is warranted.

LTU Dean, Glenn LeRoy, FAIA, braved the tough controversy in favor of academic freedom, and hosted AE911Truth’s presentation of forensic evidence at the eminent LTU School of Architecture. |
Dean Glenn LeRoy, FAIA, did not vote with the two Unsure’s and so may be presumed to agree with the evidence for the explosive controlled demolition of the WTC Twin Towers. We haven’t been able to confirm this with him as of the time of publication of this article.
We had a much easier time appreciating the historic architecture of Detroit in its famed Athletic Club – by architect, Albert Kahn.
The Detroit Athletic Club was built in 1915 and was inspired by Rome's Palazzo Farnese. |
Kahn’s “Fischer” Building, built for the auto “Body by Fischer” famed Motor City company, was gifted with a “blank check” by the seven brothers who owned the business |
The Guardian Building, designed by Wirt Rowland, was built as a “cathedral of finance” in the heyday of Motor City in 1928 and is a bold example of Art Deco architecture, including art moderne designs |
We had well over a dozen radio interviews during the milestone ten-city tour – mostly due to the great efforts of our publicist Ilene Proctor. These included the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area’s KTNF talk show with Nancy Nelson. The hard work of Ray and Beth Duensing in Indiana produced some coverage on Lakeshore Public TV and their radio station affiliate, Lakeshore FM public radio. These two shows were broadcast throughout Northern Indiana. (By press time we were unable to find an archive of either show.)
Additional media coverage of AE911Truth included the following segments on TV and radio:
Richard Gage, AIA, appears live in studio on Reality Report with Gary Franchi in Chicago during the Midwest Tour |
Fox 2 News invited Richard Gage, AIA, to the studio for the 10 O’Clock News after the controversial 9/11 event at LTU. |
