University of San Diego students weigh 9/11 evidence vs. official explanations

On October 21, Dwain Deets, former NASA engineering executive, gave a multimedia presentation at the beautiful Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice Theater on the campus of University of San Diego. Mr. Deets was speaking on behalf of nearly one thousand architects and engineers who cite evidence of explosive demolition in all 3 World Trade Center skyscrapers on 9/11 and are calling for a new, independent investigation into their destruction. These architects and engineers are listed on the website atAE911Truth.org.

Mr. Deets was an engineer with NASA Dryden Flight Research Center for more than 37 years, including Director for Aerospace Projects. Before this appointment, he served as Director, Research Engineering Division at Dryden. He received the Presidential Meritorious Rank Award in the federal government's Senior Executive Service (1988). In 1986, Deets was awarded the Wright Brothers Lectureship in Aeronautics, a distinguished speaking engagement sponsored by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

The student founder of Toreros for Truth, organized the event and served as master of ceremonies. Toreros for Truth is a University of San Diego club with a purpose to promote the best in investigative reporting, scholarly research and public education regarding the suppressed realities of September 11th, its aftermath and exploitation for political ends.

The event, scheduled to begin at noon, kicked off around 11AM with lively discussions between young Republican Club student protesters and members of AE911Truth, including Mr. Deets, who seemed to be thoroughly appreciating the exchange. The hot h'ordeurves and beverage kindly provided by the Institute helped to create an atmosphere of sincere and friendly discussion.

Other students and professors generated energy as they stopped to examine the displays and pick up literature at the entrance to the theater. Under the vaulted dome the buzz grew louder as stacks of DVD's and pamphlets disappeared. The protesting students became an invaluable part of the process as they later attended the presentation and asked some of the best questions of the day.

In his presentation Mr. Deets with his usual forthright clarity analyzed the evidence and grouped the facts into 6 easy-to-understand categories. Each supports the conclusion for controlled demolition. Using graphics he showed a pillar named to represent each category and then rearranged the pillars to spell a surprising acronym. He followed this with a showing of 9/11: Blueprint for Truth (60 min version) featuring Richard Gage, AIA, founder of AE911truth, presenting the visual evidence. The four-member panel then fielded questions proving to be an outstanding team.

Gregg Roberts and Rob Leslie joined Mr. Deets and Mr. Brown on the panel, greatly enlarging the scope of expertise. Although not a scientist himself, Mr. Roberts is a member of the notable international team of scientists who published the first peer-reviewed paper in a scientific journal on evidence of controlled demolition. Mr. Leslie specializes in the broader historical/political background leading up to the events of 9/11. There were several pilots in the audience and many with scientific backgrounds who fed thoughtful questions to the panel, enlarging the breadth of information exchange, continuing until the 3 PM wrap-up.
