Washington Journal Host: “Take Your Calls Somewhere Else”

CSPAN’s Washington Journal news show makes it easy for anyone to talk to members of the U.S. House and Senate, Washington bureaucrats, and media pundits live on TV. Recently, callers have used the opportunity to bring attention to the explosive World Trade Center evidence and put legislators on the spot.

The latest surge in discussion about 9/11 began when someone called in to ask Senator John McCain about WTC Building 7, and since then, members of Congress from both parties have been confronted by callers with questions about the destruction of the World Trade Center’s high-rise buildings.

Some politicians have tried to ignore the issue, some have dismissed it, and others nervously tried to dance around the subject – but in every case, the viewers have been exposed to the existence of evidence for controlled demolition of the WTC Towers that Congress has suppressed for years.

When Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) was asked about the evidence of explosives at Ground Zero, she responded,

“The report that I go by is the 9/11 Commission.” Perhaps she is not aware that the 9/11 Commission Report does not mention the destruction of WTC Building 7, and that several members of the 9/11 Commission have cast doubt on their own report and on the official story as a whole.

William Kristol, cofounder of Project for a New American Century (PNAC) and founder of the Weekly Standard, was hit with 9/11 questions from two different callers during the same interview. The second caller asked,

“Given that more and more people have stopped trusting the government and corporate media now, what can the establishment do to keep people from Googling ‘Building 7’ and realizing the buildings in New York were brought down in a pre-planned controlled demolition on 9/11?”Senator Tammy Baldwin tried to avoid commenting on the evidence of controlled demolition at the WTC

While Kristol remained silent, the query effectively encouraged viewers to look up Building 7 online and learn more about its mysterious destruction on their own.

A retired police officer also called in to the program and pointed out to Representative Brian Higgins (D-NY) that NIST refused to test for the presence of explosives at Ground Zero. Higgins was clearly unprepared for that information, saying in response, “I’m not really qualified to talk about explosives...”

Phillip Mudd, Former FBI Deputy Director of National Security, struggled to respond when asked about WTC 7. “Look, I think we should pass on this question.” he said. “If you want to tell me there’s something going on beyond two planes going into buildings, I never saw anything that suggested it.”

Some callers linked the 9/11 issue with the current controversies that are getting attention in Washington. One caller asked Representative John Delaney (D-MI),Rep. Bobby Scott was one of many elected officials who had trouble addressing direct questions about the 9/11 evidence

“In light of the current distrust of the government and with all the scandals going on, don’t you think it would be a good idea to get to the bottom of people’s concerns about what really happened on 9/11 with Building 7 with over 1,900 architects and engineers disputing the official story?”

Delaney waffled, saying that there will always be dialogue and discussion about what happened on 9/11 and how it was handled.

When asked about how the WTC skyscrapers were destroyed, Representative Christopher Smith (R-NJ) ignored the evidence that contradicts the official 9/11 story and instead claimed that the construction of the Twin Towers may have been substandard. “There probably were corners that were cut,” he said.

The dismissive attitude of the hosts and guests toward questions about WTC 7 compelled a longtime CSPAN viewer to call in and grill host Libby Casey:

“I’m wondering... does CSPAN have a policy of not wanting to answer any of these questions? Because when a person mentions this, you either call them some conspiracy person or else you deflect them with a different question so that the guest doesn’t have to answer.”

“It’s not a policy, and we want to invite all conversation topics,” Casey replied.

However, on a broadcast a few days later, host Steve Scully let viewers know that discussion about 9/11 was not welcome.CSPAN host Steve Scully bristled at the frequent calls that mentioned 9/11 and Building 7 When a caller asked Joao Vale de Almeida, the EU’s ambassador to the US, about Italian Supreme Court President Ferdinando Imposimato’s call for a new 9/11 investigation, Scully cut off the caller, saying, “We ask that you go to another network or another place.” He finished by telling the caller to “take your calls somewhere else.”

Since none of the guests or their hosts have been willing to answer direct questions about the real issues surrounding the destruction of the WTC skyscrapers, it’s likely that they will continue to be confronted on CSPAN and other media until they do. The vital information detailed in documentaries like 9/11: Explosive Evidence – Experts Speak Out and 9/11: Blueprint for Truth is essential to finding out who and what really bought down those buildings, and government officials should expect to be challenged until they provide the openness that the public demands.
