WTC7 Video Article 1-260wNIST's claim that the failure of Column 79 led to the entire destruction of WTC7 cannot stand up to even a basic technical analysis

This project was suggested after a careful study of NIST's Final Report on WTC7 showed that the initiation of the building's collapse was officially blamed on the failure of a single connection where a long-span girder met Column 79 on Floor 13. When we considered that such a huge controversy allegedly began from a single connection failure, we decided to take a closer look at that event.

What we found was deeply disturbing. We discovered that NIST had misrepresented that connection, and although it later corrected one aspect, it still has not acknowledged its most critical omission. In our opinion, had NIST used the correct connection elements in its analysis, it would have found that the connection could not have failed and thus would have had to postulate a different initiation event.

To illustrate our findings, we produced four short videos at a technical level that would be understandable by most people. If our findings are accurate, they are strong evidence that a new independent investigation is required to determine why WTC7 fell so rapidly and symmetrically.

The first video examines the precursor to NIST's theory of connection failure. First of all, because NIST's theory needed the composite floor in that area to fail, NIST blamed its failure on the absence of shear studs on the critical girder. We look closer at that claim.

Part One – Shear Ignorance

The second video looks into NIST's thermal expansion theory and its effect on the steelwork of Floor 13. We discover many key errors in their calculations.

Part Two – The Expanding Lie

In the third video, we introduce new information about the true makeup of the connection between Column 79 and the critical girder. Had the correct items been included, NIST would have been forced to consider a different conclusion.

Part Three – Tangled Webs

The fourth video originally was a summary of the earlier information, but soon after our third video revealed NIST's "error," NIST issued an "erratum document" which lists errors they claimed to have found in reviewing the Final Report. This document is included in our video, and as you will see, the information provided by NIST only further clouds the issue.

Part Four – MaladmiNISTration

To date, NIST has still not acknowledged the existence of the stiffener plates that we discovered in the drawings. When we revealed these girder additions to mechanical engineer Tony Szamboti, he commented that they are "game changers."

The information in these videos adds significant weight to the increasing demands for a new investigation into this building's mysterious destruction.
