The quality of the presentations and participants at the Toronto Hearings warrants the attention of political leaders, the media, and the public… throughout the world. Time will tell if the full potential of the Toronto Hearings is eventually fulfilled.
The objectives of the hearings were:
Representatives of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the 9/11 Commission, and the U.S. government bodies who produced the official reports for these agencies were invited several times to participate in the hearings, but declined to do so. Sixteen expert witnesses, including AE911Truth founder Richard Gage, AIA, presented both direct and logical evidence to an international panel of four prominent and credible individuals who agreed to look at the evidence objectively and decide whether it deserves wider consideration. The panel members were Ferdinando Imposimato, the Honorary President of the Supreme Court of Italy; Herbert Jenkins, Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Canada's McMaster University; Richard B. Lee, University Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at the University of Toronto; and David Johnson, Professor Emeritus of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Tennessee. The hearings included a comprehensive look at 9/11 from many angles. Several subjects beyond the focus of AE911Truth were covered. Many of the events on that day were coined “State Crimes Against Democracy” (SCADs) by expert witness Lance deHaven-Smith, PhD, as he presented an analysis of a range of SCADs throughout US and world history. The panel members provided a serious, intelligent critique of the evidence presented. Several possible investigation venues were discussed, as well as possible outcomes from a real, unimpeachable investigation of the events of 9/11, which would include subpoena power and testimony taken under oath.
Many months after the hearings, the four panel members produced a document with the following conclusions and recommendations:
