Fundraising Team Leader Joe D’Angelo has a passion for connecting with AE911Truth supporters over the phone and discussing the latest developments in the 9/11 Truth movement

These recent events propelled Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth into the national spotlight and helped inform countless people about the destruction of the three WTC skyscrapers, but did you know that none of these successes would have been possible without the dedicated volunteers on the AE911Truth Fundraising Team? They keep the engine running so that we can continue to produce breakthrough documentaries, reach out to the public with the explosive 9/11 evidence, and take important steps towards a real 9/11 investigation. In the wake of these recent triumphs – and with new breakthroughs on the horizon – we are looking to expand the fundraising team and bring in a few good men and women from across America to help fund our organization’s vital mission.

Joe D’Angelo became the Fundraising Team leader in 2011 after years of successful high-level fundraising for theatre companies in Chicago, and his talents have been crucial in funding AE911Truth activities around the world. “I’m a natural people person,” he explained, “and I’ve developed a knack of being able to talk to people on the telephone.”

At AE911Truth, calling signers of our petition is an uplifting experience. Unlike with “cold calls”, the people who are contacted by the Fundraising Team have already expressed their support for our efforts and shown the courage to stand with us as we continue to call for a real 9/11 investigation.

Sometimes petition signers find our fundraiser is the only person they know who shares the same views on 9/11, which leads to very informative and empowering phone conversations.

Nine out of 10 times, they’re glad to hear from us,” D’Angelo said. “People tell me about their experiences with talking to others about 9/11, and their successes and failures. Some of the phone calls are so meaningful to our petition signers that the calls end up becoming the topic of conversation at their dinner tables.”

The world premiere Tour of 9/11: Explosive Evidence – Experts Speak Out is just one of many AE911Truth triumphs that have been supported by the Fundraising Team

The fundraising team members engage a wide variety of people on a daily basis. “I’ve had such amazing conversations people from all walks of life, from pilots and firefighters to educators and broadcasters, homemakers, and of course, architects and engineers, D’Angelo explained. “Every call is different.”

While securing donations is the primary goal of the Fundraising Team, callers also help petition signers explore other ways they can contribute, including locating new educational materials from the AE911Truth store, participating in local outreach events and, of course, becoming volunteers. “We share information and give them direction on how they can be more involved,” D’Angelo said.

New fundraisers are encouraged to make about 25 calls a week, and should anticipate a commitment of 10 hours per week in order to be an effective. Like many non-profit organizations, there is also a unique rewards program that provides incentives to fundraising volunteers as additional encouragement.

The Fundraising Team is looking for people with good communication skills who love talking to other people and are great at “thinking on their feet.” Intermediate computer skills and access to a home computer and free long-distance calling are important, but trustworthiness is the most essential requirement.

While plenty of guidance is provided on our weekly team conference call, new volunteers have the freedom to conduct phone calls with a variety of personal styles. “There is a tutorial and working guideline for calling, which makes it quite easy,” D’Angelo explained.  “We’re not telemarketers – we’re fundraisers, and callers have the chance to let their personality shine in the conversation. If you’re a quick learner, you could be making calls and raising the funds that keep AE911Truth educating the public after just an hour with me on the phone!”

Do you think you have what it takes to be a fundraiser? However you decide to support us, you’re moving the mission forward, and we thank you!
